The Harlem Health Promotion Center (HHPC) uses community collaboration as a guiding force in the development of health promotion activities. Our new core project, Digital Partnerships for Health, will identify and address barriers and opportunities to using the Internet for health promotion among community residents in Harlem. Specifically, it will develop a community health promotion website that will be designed in collaboration with community partners. Such partnerships will ensure that the website offers content appropriate in culture, literacy and informational needs of the community. Additionally, the website will be an opportunity for academic and clinical researchers to provide state-of-the art information and resources to residents of the Harlem community.
